Ivaylo Georgiev is an external expert to PPG Lawyers dedicated to public procurement matters. With his long-term experience in organising procurements and consulting on issues of legal implementation in Bulgaria, Ivaylo has built his name as a specialist in this area and preferred consultant in the award procedures. He graduated in law from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” (Master of Law, 2002). His additional qualifications in the procurement sphere are numerous, as Ivaylo continuously enhances his expertise not only in practice but also in additional training courses and seminars. Ivaylo speaks English and Russian.
Ivaylo has been further focused on public procurements, specifically on environment and waste disposal. His specific and thorough knowledge of the application of the Law on waste management and the related acts distinguish him as a key expert in this particular field. He has a significant practice in providing legal advice and drafting opinions and solutions for waste collection, transportation, treatment, processing, recycling and recovery of waste. He has managed the organisation and preparation of tender procedures for a number of large domestic contracting authorities (eg, the Metropolitan Municipality and other big municipalities in the country) within subject matters of the treatment of mixed and household waste, waste collection, defining contractors of regional landfills for non-hazardous waste, etc.
Ivaylo has led the organisation and conduct of open procedures, as well as the implementation and monitoring of infrastructure projects under the rules of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC, “Yellow Book”) and the Law on Spatial Planning.
